Bits & Pieces

Early version of the dashing lad  shown on the home page.

Woodworking has always been a passion.  This is a toy locomotive crafted from American Red Oak. USS SAN FRANCISCO  following a collision with an uncharted sea mount.

Our Red Bone Coon Hounds - Belle (right) and Buckeye (left). Anne the Scholar Anne was with us for 13 years.  She is a native Hawaiian and met her demise at the hands of a grey fox in December 2006.

Front walkway.  Here you can see a piece of all three "Monkey Pod" trees. Diamond Head from our neighborhood beach I called it my $50,000 shack on a million dollar piece of real estate.

A three bedroom mountain chalet that will serve as our headquarters while we plan and build a new home nearby The house sits on property that my wife's father once owned and logged Not far from this house is a 28,000 acre tract of U.S. Forest Service managed land. Yes, we do get critters in the neighborhood most nights.
   
     
Military Retirement
Career Shadow Box presented by the  Naval Sea Logistics Center Board of Directors upon my retirement Encased flag was flown over the USS ARIZONA Memorial at Pearl Harbor and the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington DC Just another shot with sword and scabbard crossed.
I didn't have a formal retirement ceremony, but I did deliver a few remarks and bid farewell at a small gathering in Mechanicsburg. My CO presenting the certificate of retirement. Some of the ladies ordered up some cakes for the retirement/farewell event.  This one kicks off my new life with the worms.
